Color Adventures Continue

Welcome to a place where color adventures continue! What do I mean by this? I can’t wait to share with you. But first, here’s a warm (and bright colored) welcome to you. If you’re new, here’s what I do here. Each week I share a colorful painting, a painting in progress or other painting related activities. My hope is these color clad images delight your eyes and lift your spirits! If you would like to receive these weekly posts in your very own inbox, subscribe here. Let’s look more closely at this week’s painting in progress, OK?
Confession
Before I continue, I confess that I haven’t had any painting time for the past two weeks. Why? We went to visit my better half’s family in the UK. And, even though I brought my sketchbook, I barely had a chance to open it.
Mr. Himself has four sisters and a mum. Each of the sisters have connections to visit and see too. So, even though we live in a world where “multi-tasking” runs rampant, I confess that’s not my strength. The trip was fantastic on so many levels. Why? We had amazing weather, the entire time. Since when is England sunny and warm in mid-April?
While there we cheered on his twin sister’s successful effort running the London Marathon. Note 56,000 people finished the marathon; a record. And there were 800,000 spectators! It was an incredible chance to be amdist a swarm of humanity that was friendly, generous, spirited, and funny.
We also attended numerous family gatherings in Cornwall, Coventry, Devon and London. Meaning? Meaning we drove hither and yon along hedge-lined one lane roads and beyond. But shazam it was fun.
Back to the Easel
Now that we’re back, I have been experimenting with greens and reds on my palette. This week’s start was a bit of a slow one. Blame it on jet lag? So, I’m just sharing a snippet of a first pass. It’s a painting of a few items that mean something to me. More on that when it’s complete.
Here’s the sneak peek for this week!

This only shows about one quarter of the entire painting. It has been fun to work on so far. Stay tuned for more on this in the week’s ahead. It may take awhile?
