Abundance is in the Air

Abundance is in the Air

What makes me suggest that abundance is in the air? Ah! So many things including this week’s painting of the same name. But, before I explain, please let me welcome new readers here. Welcome! And, here’s a link describing the purpose of this post and blog.

Why Abundance

Because it’s pumpkin season! Pumpkins symbolize abundance. Here’s one of my pumpkin paintings. This is ~6×6 inches, painted in gouache on cold press paper. It’s already on it’s way to it’s forever home. Yay!

Abundance

Pumpkins also mean fall and, hopefully, cooler weather. Ahhh!

Love is in the Air

There are also lots of significant family events for me in the month of October. Some are sad but many are happy celebrations of love. I won’t shout specifics but let’s just say happy happy birthday(s) and happy anniversary(s).

And, while we’re at it, why not fire up that great song from the 70s of the same name. Go on, tap your toes. Shake your booty. It’s a great song and blast from the past.

Love is in the Air

Gotta love this one hit wonder, right?

One More Thing

Before I sign off, gentle reader, I just have to share that I am writing this week’s blog on my phone. Why? Our internet is out and has been nearly all day. Can you believe it? We made it through a hurricane just fine this past weekend. But now? On a beautiful, fall day? Internet crickets!

Thank goodness for Mint Mobile cell phone service! It’s carrying on while big huge A*&* takes a nap. Oh well. This too shall pass, eh?

How About You

How are you, gentle reader? Have you noticed a seasonal shift where you are? If so, what have you noticed? Please do tell by sharing in the comments below. Thank you for reading!

Impressed a blog post with images via phone. Huh. Good for you! We’ve harvested something like 9 butternut squashes in our small veggie garden. (Already sort of sick of butternut squash soup. :))
May the electrical forces of the Cosmos return your internet to you!

      Hiya Beth!
Ha … I have a fab carrot, butternut squash, sweet potato soup recipe. Just in case you want to mix things up.
Me? I can’t get enough of it right now. ;-D

    Julie,

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a pumpkin with those colors but it’s striking. I really like the way you set off the pumpkin’s colors with light greens and blues. I also think the texture variations add a lot of interest.

Best with all the love and abundance coming at you!

      Hi Kristina,

Aren’t those colors amazing? This little pumpkin is about as action-packed with colors as I have ever seen! Thank you so much for noticing and commenting! xoxo

Lovely painting! And congratulations on the sale! Very excited for you. Enjoy October’s festivities of birthdays and anniversaries.

I love the shift in light that each new season brings. Was noticing and marveling at it this morning. It goes along with a change in the types of foods I crave. xoxo

      Hi Alexandra,
      Thank you!
I love the season changes and associated shift in light too. And, hmmm…I’m wondering here what kind of foods you crave with the changing season? Will need to find out from you pronto!!! In particular, will need to find out if the food craving and change involves something with the word “cake” in it. Surely that will be fabulous…especially if you bake it. Will be in touch to find out soon! xxoo

🙂 You guessed right! Some of the new foods I crave with the change in seasons involve apple pie and cakes with warm flavors – ginger and cinnamon, for example. (And, thank you for your kind words about my cakes!) On the savory side, I crave more soups. I like making a lemony and thyme chicken soup, which is interesting because most of the time I’m not a big fan of soup. But, there again that change in the season awakens this craving. xoxo
