Waukeena Lake View

Waukeena Lake View

Greetings and here’s virtual postcard #2 of Waukeena Lake View and our Road Trip North 2023. Before I share more including the meaning of “waukeena,” here is information about this blog. This is a place where, each week, I share my paintings, road trip musings, and inspiration. Whether this is your first or millionth visit here, hiya, hello and a warm welcome! I choose a theme to guide my paintings each year. To read about this year’s painting theme, check the description in this link here. New England Roots

This week, we have driven along small roads, creeks and beautiful vistas, to reach my hometown outside of Boston, MA. Here’s a musical glimpse of this place (okay from my teenage years and years and years ago). HA! We have been lucky to have beautiful cool nights, family visits with new, sweet little bundles of joy and more.

Right now, we are in a tiny town in New Hampshire where my younger sister and her husband have a cabin by a lake. This view makes me think of that quote “…it doesn’t get any better than this!” Actually, just about every stop on our trip, one of us has looked at the view from our camper and said that same thing. But I speak too much! Here’s this week’s visual post card. It’s the edge of and rocky view of Waukeena Lake.

We are no where near a post office so this one won’t be listed for sale till we return from our road trip. Sure hope you understand that.

Waukeena Meaning

Word around here is that the meaning of waukeena is “pleasant.” And, shazam it sure is. So, I am sending as many pleasant vibes as I can with this painting and post.

Short and Sweet

That’s the latest for this week’s visual post card, gentle reader. What’s new in your world? I would love to hear. Please share your news in the comments below. And, thank you as always for reading here today.

Well, well! This painting is a great capture of Lake Waukeena as it appears out our cottage door! Seems as if you brought the best weather of the summer with you … thanks for leaving it behind. 🙂

Looking forward to the next postcards!

Hiya Beth, Thank you! Feeling so lucky to have had the chance to see you and Bill at Lake Waukeena. Everything about it is delightful. And, I love the care that you and your neighbors there are showing for it’s sustenance.

Sending lots o love your way!!
